Having Kids: Is It Really a Blessing, Or Just a Religious Misunderstanding?

Written by Qadeem Zieman on Newswav.com

In Malaysia, a lot of Muslims due to their religious belief, look at having kids as a form of sustenance or a blessing…

As is stated in the Holy Book of the Quran, “Children are among the greatest treasures and blessings of this world, (Surah Al-Kahf, 18:46). Moreover, desiring and having children is the sunnah of the prophets and messengers.”

But when we are living in this current era where the economy is not as great, do parents have the ‘blessing’ or in Bahasa, rezeki to support their kids?

You see, raising a child is much more than just being there in front of them…

It takes funds to send them to school, to learn more about life, and it takes time to spend with them as well as the knowledge to bless them with.

Do we have enough rezeki to have them?

Sustenance to me in general is to have the education, and awareness about life, to plan the future wisely, especially when you’re bringing another life into this world and having the money to afford a decent lifestyle to raise them in, as much as having the time and health to experience things with them.

But, I must say that the system that we’re currently living in today is just as corrupted as most politicians in the world, most things are just as twisted and don't make sense anymore.

And this particular issue, (misunderstanding the concept of sustenance) occurs due to the lack of decent knowledge exposure, and over-reliance on the religion.

It takes much more than just following what’s written in the book.

It takes a decent ability to realize more of the current world we are currently living in, the environment, the economy, the financials and a lot more topics also take part in growing a family…
