The Downfall and Rise of Zieman

You may recognise Zieman as the controversial journalist involved in the infamous RM 10 Million defamation lawsuit with the late second National Songstress in 2004.
She was a respected figure dubbed as Elizabeth Taylor of Malay Journalism and The Godmother of Malay Journalism following her major steps in revolutionising the business by founding Persatuan W.H.A.M. - Wartawan Hiburan Malaysia (Malaysian Entertainment Writers Association) and the best-selling Malay portal mStar (originally stands for Malaysian Stars) by The Star Media Group Berhad (SMG). Zieman became the first Editor and set up the first and most successful column, Kolum Kakaktua (The Parrot's Column) discussing hot topic gossip of the local and international entertainment industry.
She was loved and cherished by many, especially amongst the artists, while some loathed her for her spicy remarks. Nevertheless, her charismatic personality earned their trust as a true friend, leading to her being the go-to person for spreading news and gathering support.

In 2018, Zieman planned and organised the showcase of 90s rock singer Shima at Rebung by Chef Ismail in collaboration with another party to aid in the potential comeback of the legendary singer, followed by another charity concert for the deceased 70s singer, where she was conned by a trusted person which led her to take a silent step back from the public.
Zieman lost her life savings of over RM1 Million from that incident which resulted in the unpaid mortgage, pulling her comfortable 4,517 sqft Petaling Jaya residence into foreclosure in 2020. Fortunately, a good friend from NST who was living in Australia got word and contributed the required sum to save her house.
More tests came at their doorsteps as she was diagnosed with stroke twice, Parkinsonism, chronic kidney failure, diabetes, vertigo, high blood pressure, and asthma. Qadeem, as the youngest and the only child who remained by her side decided to quit high school the glimpse he saw trouble with his mother's illness, and continued to work on grooming his mother out of the depressing episodes towards the end of her life aside from nursing her daily since 2019. He also became a ghostwriter in completing her autobiography as Zieman was unable to use her hands stably at most times due to her battle with Parkinson's. Qadeem is also currently working on the publication of the book and describes the whole experience of taking care of his mother as a blessed wisdom. "That marks my first production. I produced my mother to be her old self again at 60 years old battling with chronic illnesses through a depressing fate. If I can do that all alone and in poverty, then I believe that I can do anything that I put my heart into."

Zieman was declared brain dead by the hospital on Qadeem's 18th birthday at around 10am, but the majority of the family decided to keep her on life support for 18 more days, and she was officially pronounced dead on December 29th 2021 at 60 years old due to multiple organ failure.
That day left a lasting impact on his life as he said he had lost 2 women in 2 days; his ex-girlfriend on the 10th, and his mother on the 11th.

After the passing of the iconic journalist, despite his battle with narcissist abuse and poverty, Qadeem overcame his predicaments and has set a will to reign over the Zieman's legacy in continuing his late mother's cherished career in both journalism and humanitarianism by writing articles and personal anecdotes to spread awareness of lesser-known concerns such as narcissism, mental health, elderly empowerment, and he is currently writing a book on sexually transmitted diseases, aside from producing several original songs including a recently released number that tells a story about a wandering orphan, 'Haruskah Hati Merindu' (Must I Still Miss Him? - My Father).

He looks forward to following in his mother's footsteps in accomplishing more charitable affairs in the future under the branding 'ZiemanShah Humanity Organisation' in honour of the late veteran figure in Malaysian journalism.
