Liz, Leigh, and Audrey in My Les Misérables

Byline: Qadeem Zieman

It's always like being Elizabeth Taylor in a scene where they would all fall beneath my eyes.

All voilets and lavenders, until I had to become Vivien Leigh when spring blossoms the roses to red.

I would always have to fight for my place in their hearts.

Then soon, it'll be like that part where Audrey Hepburn gets out of the car...

And it stops there only to repeat.

While my eyes flatter them like no other,

My mouth would also get stuffed with the things that I can't say.

They would fall too hard for me that I could no longer breathe.

If only this trait came with some security guards,

But every time there's a flare of redness, it comes with pain.

The pain of asking, "Why did they fall for me in the first place?"

In the end, I would have to change my blues to greys to step into a vehicle...

Only to realise that I am the 'Audrey' in a film called Les Misérables.

Big dreams, big hope, long legs...

Yet, confused as to where the next stop should be,

While the voilets and lavenders still fall out from my deep autumn eyes.
